So what do you do when you need someone to watch your 6 and 8 year old sweethearts and they want half of your daily earnings to do so? FREAK THE HECK OUT that's what!! Seriously I could totally understand if they were in diapers, and couldn't feed themselves or even if they were potty training, but boy oh boy am I in the wrong business b/c it's just so stressful.
So here is the question of the day...do I quit my job and stay home with the girls for the summer? If I do that, what do I do when they go back to school in the fall? If I stayed home, would they be happy with me or would they resent me and my "boring Mom" lifestyle? Seriously, this afternoon I went to meet with a lovely woman who would be able to watch the girls starting next week. We were there for all of 20 minutes, and when I got girls in the car and asked them if they would rather go to the babysitter while I went to work or if they wanted me to stay home with them, one of them who shall remain anonymous stated, with much enthisiasm, "The babysitter!" Oh, drive a dagger into my heart right now to end the pain. Was it a sign that I am not doing enough for them to drive them away to the stranger they met 5 whole minutes ago?! Aaaahhhhh! It's enough to almost make a girl wanna go eat some Ben & Jerry's- WHAT? You think I keep this girlish figure by sticking to a diet!
Okay, okay, all jokes aside, when I think of staying home with the girls it just seems right. I swear I was a happier version of myself when I did the whole "Stay at home" thing, but I better ask Russ about that when we discuss this whole thing tonight huh?! For my friends out there who will actualy read this rambling pyschobabble, I would so appreciate any and all advice, thoughts, etc. because my thoughts are utterly out of control at this moment. I will leave you now to take my children outside so I can attempt to make them enjoy my presence.
Tata for now...

Oh Deanna!!! I dont know what to say because i wish i had more time away from my children and maybe thats cause i watch everyone elses kids too! I would ask myself how often do i work, what do i make and is it worth it to have someone else raise my children. By all means if you have to work then i believe you should but if its not nesasary i think kids are most of the time better off at home with their mom!(depending on how responsible the mom is) And i think youre a great one!!! PS if you ever need a part time babysitter let me know!
Well...since I just received "permission" to quit my job, I say that you should quit and be a "boring" mom. I think kids need to learn what it's like to stay at home and play. Life is not a carnival cruise line where there is a person who makes sure your every minute is fun and exciting. Sometimes life is boring, mundane and you have to find something to do yourself. I also think it's important that children learn what it's like to be a mom, helping clean, cook, laundry and take care of a home. Those lessons can't be taught by a babysitter, nor can you pay for them with half of your salary. I look forward to a summer with my kids and I think you deserve the same thing. By the way, you deserve all this without agreeing to another baby just to make Russ say yes. :)
Your girls are crazy!! They have one of the funnest moms on the planet that is constantly taking them places and letting them experience new things and they want to stay with a sitter?! Crazy crazy:-D I think that if your pay is basically paying for child care, you should quit and be a stay at home mom through the summer. If you guys can afford it, which with the big dinero the guys say they make, then you should. I think your girls would enjoy it even if they don't think so right now:-D Good luck with your decision! Tell Russ you suffer through the hours he works, and extra "crap" they do, so you can stay at home with the kiddos:-D Love ya!
I would love to stay home, if you can I would go for it! You only get to watch your kids grow up once why not enjoy every minute of it.
